German Millet

Hay (Foxtail) Millets

Millets are annual crops used for hay or forage crops.  They do not recover after grazing and are generally taken for hay.  They make excellent emergency crops, especially after losing a crop to hail.  Millets do better than alternative crops on light, sandy soils.  Millets have a short growing season and can be planted late and still give a good yield in 60-75 days.

German Millet is a longer season millet that produces excellent hay.
