Oahe Int. Wheatgrass

Wheatgrasses are fairly easy to establish.  They provide excellent early spring growth of high quality forage.  They are very hardy and nutritious.  Wheatgrasses are used for pasture, hay and erosion control.

OAHE INTERMEDIATE WHEATGRASS is a tall, sod-forming grass with a deep root system similar to bromegrass.  It will tolerate soil pH levels of 8.0 - 8.5.  Intermediate wheatgrass prefers finer textured, sandy loam to clay loam soils.  It provides early spring growth, goes dormant during the hot summer months, and greens up again with adequate fall moisture.  Intermediate wheatgrass should not be closely grazing in spring to maintain productivity.  Grazing after September 1 may also reduce productivity of the stand.
